Make Way Partners beginnings

Traveling around the world and deep into the darkness of her own heart, Kimberly’s worst fears collided with her faith as she and her family discovered the atrocities of human trafficking. But it was in that broken place that a self-centered life was transformed into an international effort to save thousands from modern-day slavery, persecution, disease, and genocide.

How did Make Way Partners get its name?

Make Way Partners… is more than just an organization’s name, it is a clarion call to each of us.  First inspired from the story of Joseph in Genesis, as Pharaoh adopts him as his son, and calls for everyone to, “Make Way” for his new son, we see this same theme repeated many times throughout the biblical narrative, including John the Baptist calling “Make Way for the Son of God”. Today, these words shout a passionate cry in the wilderness for each of us to Make Way for something new.  Make Way for hope.  Make Way for the impossible to be made possible.  Make Way for the voice of the most vulnerable to be heard.  Make Way for what God is already doing and longs to do in and through you and me in the midst of suffering—if only we are willing.

You and me.  We are together desperately needed in such a time as this to unite as Partners to Make Way for transformation.  Together as Partners, we are invited into a lifelong journey of offering all that we have and all that we are to a mission bigger than ourselves.  Together as Partners, we unite to witness and hear the voice of the vulnerable and stand in the gap for the oppressed.  Together as Partners, we Make Way for Love, Healing, Transformation, and Hope…. We Make Way for Restoration… we Make Way to set the captives free.
