Eugenio & Jane Kirima
African Field Coordinator & Thrive Coordinator
Eugenio Bio: Eugenio was born on 20th October 1968 in the Meru district Eastern province in the Republic of Kenya. He has a university degree in business focusing on clearing, forwarding, warehousing, distribution, and shipping management—which prepared him excellently for his Logistician role within MWP.
Eugenio worked for 17 years at Firestone Tire Company as the Warehouse Manager, gaining experience working and traveling in the whole of East and Central Africa. In 2007 he left Firestone to begin operating his own Taxi service, through which he met Kimberly Smith during her visit to Nairobi. Over the next two years, Eugenio proved himself as a trustworthy and invaluable resource to advance the work of MWP. He joined out staff full-time in 2009.
He serves as Make Way Partners African Field Coordinator and negotiates everything from supply requisitions, to long-distance truck routes through road-less bush overseeing delivery of those supplies, as well as handling our tax exempt status in Kenya. Additionally, he helps with organizing any logistical need for all MWP staff and short-term teams in and out of Sudan and South Sudan.
In addition, his entire family, wife Jane, and daughters Christine (20) and Faith (15), open their hearts and home to love and care for the women and children that we medevac to Kenya for emergency medical care. When these patients are strong enough to be released from the hospital, but not strong enough to endure the tough conditions of Sudan, Eugenio and Jane provide a safe intermediary harbor in their home.
Eugenio’s hobbies are traveling and listening to gospel music. His passion is working towards helping the less fortunate and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
